Stomach Bug

Things seem to be on the up and up. No pukes throughout the day and only one minimal puke this evening. Visit to the pediatrician this morning went well. He seems to think Nora has a stomach bug that’s been going around — not the norovirus and not the flu, thank God!! No need for a GI visit at this time. Things should start to clear up in 3-5 days. We didn’t sleep but for maybe 3 hours last night – so I’m heading to sleep!! Just wanted to give that quick update and to thank all of you for your prayers, your encouraging comments, messages and emails. I’ll write more later!

โ€œCome to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.โ€

  1. I SURE HOPE YOU GOT SOME VERY NEEDED REST. PRAYING THAT NORA IS FEELING SO MUCH BETTER AND THAT THE OLD BAD BUG LEAVES REALLY QUICKLY. I TOO HATE IT WHEN NORA IS NOT FEELING UP TO PAR. WELL HERE GOES: ON DECEMBER 27TH MY YOUNGER SISTER AND I WENT TO INDIANA TO BE WITH OUR SISTER THAT WAS IN THE HOSPITAL. SHE WENT IN ON CHRISTMAS DAY. WE WERE SO BLESSED TO BE ABLE TO STAY WITH HER UNTIL JANUARY 12TH. THE HOSPITAL THAT SHE WAS IN TREATED HER AND US THREE GIRLS SO GOOD. MY NIECE HAS TAKEN CARE OF OUR SISTER FOR THE LAST 5 YEARS, AS SHE WAS UNABLE TO STAY BY HERSELF BECAUSE SHE HAD ALZHEIMER’S. SHE STILL KNEW US, AND WAS SO GLAD WE WERE THERE WITH HER. THE HOSPITAL STAFF LET US STAY IN HER ROOM 24/7. AT NIGHT OUR NIECE, MY YOUNGER SISTER AND MYSELF SLEPT IN RECLINERS IN BETTY’S ROOM RIGHT BY HER BED. WHEN SHE WENT INTO THE HOSPITAL, SHE WAS DIAGNOSED WITH C-DIFF (AN INFECTION IN THE BOWEL) THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS CONDITION, AND SHE GOT TOO WEAK TO FIGHT ANYMORE, SO GOD SENT HER ANGELS DOWN TO GO ON THE JOURNEY TO HER HEAVENLY HOME ON JAN 18TH. WE HAD SOME VERY GOOD TIMES WITH HER WHILE WE WERE THERE. ON NEW YEAR’S EVE AT 4 MIN – 8 SEC. BEFORE MIDNIGHT SHE WOKE UP, WATCHED THE BALL FALL WITH US AND WE ALL WAS AROUND HER BED AND HUGGED AND KISSED HER AND WISHED HER A HAPPY NEW YEAR. THAT WAS SUCH A BLESSING!!!!! AT 5 MIN. AFTER 12:00 SHE WENT BACK TO SLEEP AND SLEPT ALL NIGHT. SHE WAS VERY WEAK, BUT TOLD WAS SEVERAL TIMES DURING THE DAY THAT SHE LOVED US. THOSE 16 DAYS THAT WE GOT TO STAY WITH HER IN THE HOSPITAL WAS A BLESSING FROM GOD. IT IS STILL VERY HARD, AS I AM TYPING THIS, I AM CRYING SO HARD I CAN BARELY SEE WHAT I AM TYPING. SHE IS IN A MUCH BETTER PLACE, AND HERE THERE WAS NO CURE FOR HER. SHE GOT DOWN TO ABOUT 75 LBS. NOW SHE IS WALKING THOSE STREETS OF GOLD AND NO MORE SICKNESS, HER MIND IS CLEAR, AND I KNOW THAT SHE MUST BE VERY HAPPY IN HEAVEN WITH OUR HEAVENLY FATHER. I CAN’T IMAGINE THE EXCITEMENT AT THE GATES TO HEAVEN WHEN OUR MOMMY AND DADDY, HER HUSBAND BILL, AND SEVERAL MORE OF OUR LOVE ONES MET HER THERE AND WELCOMED HER HOME. SOME DAY WE WILL ALL BE TOGETHER AGAIN, UNTIL THEN SHE WILL LIVE IN MY HEART. I WANT TO THANK ALL WHO WERE CONCERNED ABOUT ME, WORDS CANNOT EXPRESS HOW VERY MUCH THAT MEANS TO ME. GUESS I HAVE TALKED WAY TOO MUCH, BUT I HAD SO MUCH TO SAY. I MISSED ALL OF YOUR BLOGS ALEISA, AND I AM GOING TO READ EACH AND EVERY ONE OF THEM. AFTER READING WHERE PEOPLE WERE CONCERNED ABOUT ME, I THOUGHT I WOULD COME TO THE LAST ONE AND TELL EVERYONE THAT I AM BACK. I ALSO READ EVERYONE OF THE MESSAGES THAT PEOPLE WRITE, AND I MISSED EVERYONE. IT IS A LITTLE AFTER 4 A.M. SO GUESS I BETTER BE GETTING TO BED. MY PRAYERS ARE WITH NORA AND HER WONDERFUL FAMILY. PRAYING YOU ALL WILL BE GETTING WELL REAL SOON. I LOVE YOU ALL VERY MUCH. GOOD NIGHT AND GOD BLESS.

    • Ethel, thank you so much for the beautiful story about spending the last days with your sister! There are so many loved ones that I wish I’d had the opportunity to do the same thing with and you will always have those precious memories. I loved your description of the greeting your sister was receiving in Heaven! I was one of the readers who was so worried about you and had been praying for you. This blog is about Nora’s story & life, but it has become so much more! It has become a beautiful inter-connection of God’s faithful promises fulfilled. I’m not sure if Aleisa had any idea what an encouragement this blog would be to others when she started it, but through her faithful obedience…it has blossomed into a reflection of His story. Glad you are back & I look forward to your posts! ~Laurie

    • Thank you Ethel for sharing as I missed you and even emailed Aleisa about you. I enjoy your updates and message as much as I do Aleisas. This blog has kept me going on so many days!!! God bless you.

    • Ethel: I’m sorry for the loss of your sister but hope that you have relief in knowing she is no longer in pain and is walking the streets of gold with our heavenly father and some of her loved ones~until you meet again. I missed your posts while you were away but I am so glad you had the opportunity to be with your sister on her last days. As I stated in previous posts I lifted you up in prayer even though I didn’t know your circumstances, I knew that God did! I know you missed things about your “everyday life” while you were with your sister but that goes to show the character of your being. You put God and your family first…and He blessed you with wonderful memories of your sisters last days! I’m glad you are back and I look forward to seeing your posts on a regular basis again. Take care! ~Nancy

  3. THANK YOU ALL FOR THE NICE THINGS YOU SAID. IT IS COMFORTING TO KNOW PEOPLE FROM ALL OVER WHO HAVE NEVER MET, HAS BEEN BROUGHT TOGETHER BY OUR “LITTLE PROPHET” NORA ROSE YUSKO, WHOM WE ALL LOVE SOOOOO MUCH. A BIG THANK YOU TO ALEISA FOR SHARING THIS LITTLE GIRL WITH US, AND KEEPING OUR FAITH ALONG WITH THEIR’S GROWING DAY BY DAY. WILLIAM, I HOPE YOU ARE FEELING MUCH BETTER, AND THAT GRETA IS ABLE TO BE BACK IN SCHOOL. ALSO THANK YOU WILLIAM FOR THE REALLY GOOD PICTURES THAT YOU HELP ALEISA WITH, AND HELP KEEPING US ALL UP TO DATE. PRAYING FOR YOUR FAMILY. LOVE AND PRAYERS.

  4. Ethel .- sending prayers your way – beautiful story about your sweet time with your sister. This blog is so spiritually uplifting – little Nora Rose is surely a little angel sent to do the work of God Our Father. Amen

  5. I am so, so glad that Nora “just” has a stomache bug. It is so scarey when littles ones are sick; we sometimes make ourselves sick with worry. Don’t want to make a joke of something so serious, but if she would have had the norovirus, you could have renamed it the “Nora-virus.” God bless that little peanut of yours!

    • Lol, she didn’t have norovirus but Nornorvirus… ๐Ÿ˜‰
Ethel, sorry to hear about your sister’s death. I became worried when Aleisa asked about you in one post. Happy you’re back here. It’s thanks to Nora that we’re like a big family, all praying for each others when needed.
