Around this time last year we were just beginning to come to grasps with a couple of “soft markers” that were noted in our baby’s then recent ultrasound. We knew something might be “wrong” but were told not to worry, so we didn’t… too terribly much. Besides, “those types of things only happen to other people”. We wouldn’t find out the official diagnosis until after Christmas, something I was so thankful for. I remember thinking that at least we got to enjoy one last Christmas since I assumed we would “never be happy again”.
Fast forward (at what seems like warp speed) to the next Christmas season 2012. Despite the overt contamination of evil in the outside world, there is still goodness and there is still joy – much of it effervescing from a beautiful little baby that lives here in our house!
The time has gone by SO fast. I know it will continue to do so with each tick of the second-hand… unless the Mayans are right (by the sound of the wind out there, I’m starting to scratch my head!)
I love my brudder! And my brudder loves me!
I love my silly family that sticks random things on my head!
“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?
Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?
Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life ?
“And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin.
Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these.
If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith?
So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’
For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.
But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
(Matthew 6:25-34 NIV)
For some reason I was prompted to get up and go to the window with my camera (phone). I wasn’t looking for a rainbow, but there it was!! It wasn’t even raining where I was.
Minutes later I got a text from my Mom. We’d seen the same rainbow which was obviously a little closer to her (9 miles away). Had to share!!
I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth.
(Genesis 9:13 NIV)
LOVE THE PICTURES OF GAVIN AND NORA. SHE SURE LOVES HER BROTHER AND SISTER, AND THEY SURE LOVE HER RIGHT BACK. SHE IS SUCH A HAPPY BABY GIRL. THE PICTURES OF THE RAINBOW IS BEAUTIFUL. YOU TAKE THE BEST PICTURES!!!!!! I CANNOT IMAGINE HOW FAST THE TIME HAS GONE, SINCE NORA WAS BORN, FOR YOU GUYS. I CANNOT BELIEVE MYSELF THAT SHE IS ALREADY 8 MONTHS OLD. HER BIG BLUE EYES JUST SPARKLE WHEN SHE IS FEELING GOOD. SO HAPPY THAT OLD COLD HAS LEFT THE SCENE. HOPE YOU ALL GET A GOOD NIGHT’S SLEEP, AND THAT WHEN YOU ALL GET UP IT WILL BRING ANOTHER REALLY GOOD DAY. I LOVE YOU ALL, AND PRAY ONLY FOR GOOD THINGS FOR YOUR FAMILY. WELL I THINK I WILL CALL IT A DAY, AND GET SOME SLEEP. GOOD NIGHT AND GOD BLESS.
The brightest rainbow is inside home!!. Love that big smile on yesterday’s pics.!!. Muaahh
P.S: Nornor’s thoughts : ” Today a turban ; some days ago a weird hairstyle … What’s the problem with my hair in this family ??? ” 😀
Opps, by the way , talking about rainbows felt I had to write about Reece’s Rainbow. It’s an American Charity that helps orphans with special needs to be adopted by loving families. For people who can’t adopt at this moment ( like me) prayers and/or donations are always welcome as well as sharing info about the orphans and the charity in blogs, facebook, twitter etc.
Just in case you want to mention it in your blog:
