Cold III

Every little stray from norm sets the horror movie music screeching in my head. Nora had been eating really wonderfully the past 4 days. As of yesterday late afternoon there has been a steady decline. I fully comprehend the futility of worry, but satan is always right there with his dirty infected syringe injecting fear and worry into my mind. It simmers and festers and I find myself in a puddle of tears.

I made a quick trip to the grocery this morning for laundry detergent and gas drops (hoping gas was the source of Nora’s troubles). I was weepy on my way back home, looking all over for the 3 birds. No where. Instead of turning down our street, I got it in my head to just keep going straight. Nora had fallen asleep, this would give her the opportunity to sleep. So on I drove. I went down through another subdivision and there they were.

Nora started fussing right after I took that picture. It was almost as if I had driven down there specially to see them.

Despite Nora’s disinterest in her milkies, she was in decent spirits. She was wide awake for most of the day, from 8 am – 3 pm! We were then honored to have a visit from Melanie Pace – the amazing photographer who did the pictures of Nora’s birth! She had her cameras in tow and got some great shots of us with Nora. I can’t wait to see the pictures!! Here are some that I took today:

It was toward the end of our photo shoot that I noticed Nora was getting lots of boogies. (cue up horror music) Didn’t we just get over the last cold??? No one else in the family is exhibiting any symptoms to have known to keep their distance. We do not touch her unless we’re doused in hand sanitizer. I’m at a loss…

So here we go again. I’m sleep deprived and so susceptible to satan’s stupid tricks. Please pray for Nora to weather this cold without any complications and that I will stay focused in the present moment. Please pray for my precious hubzbind too. He’s exhausted from a hard day at work, yet goes completely above, beyond and back again for all of us.  #bestdaddyandhubzbindintheworld

Jesus turned and said to Peter, “Get behind me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to me; you do not have in mind the concerns of God, but merely human concerns.”

  1. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers, especially sweet little Angel baby Nora. I pray that this cold is short and she is feeling back to her self very very soon!

  2. NORA AND HER WONDERFUL FAMILY ARE IN MY PRAYERS EVERY DAY, AND I WILL PRAY REALLY HARD THAT THIS COLD WILL SOON PASS. I LOVE THE FIRST PICTURE OF NORA LAUGHING REALLY GOOD. SHE IS JUST TOOOOOO PRECIOUS. I WANT TO SEE HER IN PERSON SO BAD. MAYBE NEXT TIME YOU ARE AT THE HOSPITAL, I CAN SNEAK IN AND WAIT IN THE LOBBY TO MEET LITTLE NORA AND HER WONDERFUL PARENTS. SO GLAD YOU FOUND THE THREE BIRDS. GOD KNEW YOU NEEDED REASSURANCE, SO HE SENT THE SIGN (THREE BIRDS). GUESS I BETTER BE GETTING TO BED (2 AM), SO I CAN GET UP EARLY ENOUGH TO FIX MY HUSBAND AND SON THEIR BREAKFAST. LOVE YOU ALL. GOOD NIGHT AND GOD BLESS.

  3. I know telling you not to try and not worry is ridiculous but I bet Nora is just growing and in the ebb phase of the growth spurt. My daughter adalyn worries me cuz some days I can barley get her to eat and I freak all out and the next she is grubbing everything in sight! I pray that she overcomes this cold before it even starts!!

  4. I pray it stays clear and goes quickly. I’m sure it’s nothing. It’s been warm to chilly and back to warm all week. Hopefully it’s just seasonal changes. You are such a good mommy. Sounds so easy, but try to keep your head up and worry less. Just switch the horror music back to bob marley bc every little thing… Is gonna be alright. Xoxo.

  5. Hi! I am a pediatric nurse, and I’ve worked with a lot of sick kids. I also have two of my own, so I totally understand the worry factor! Anyway, kids tend to have a decreased appetite when they are getting sick, even before you notice any symptoms. They also get a LOT of colds! Tis the season. Give her a few days and take a deep breath. God is holding her close.

  6. Eqch day, you, but mostly your faith inspire me. Nora was surely given to all of us to remond us of God’s awesomeness and is unwavering love for us. You are so right humn fragility cause us to let Satan try to come in but God conquers always. Thank you for your faith and devotions. Wil continue to pray for Nora and your precious family. Hugs to all of you.

  7. Phil. 4:6-7 The Message “Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life.”
    Praying for you inSC!
