Nora – 3 Days Old

There is SO MUCH I want to write about, but, as I’m sure you can understand, I just can’t put this sweet little bundle down. I am completely smitten with her. I said to William today – I would not trade THIS little girl for anything. SHE is exactly who I love and exactly who I want.

Here are some pictures from today:

I figured out today that Nora LOVES getting her tiny little “bird legs” rubbed and massaged. She can’t get enough of that! She enjoys the sunshine and the fresh Spring air, and loves being loved.

We can’t thank you enough for all of your prayers!!

If you haven’t already seen Melanie’s (the photographer’s) slide show, please check it out and be sure to have many tissues on hand!

  1. Thank you for sharing Nora and your story. She is beautiful. You and your family are incredible. Stay strong and much love and prayers being sent your way.

  2. I would be willing to babysit so you and William can have some “alone” time. No? Yeah, I pretty much figured. BUT the offer is there anytime!

  3. She is a beautiful baby! I am so happy for all of you. I will continue praying for this precious girl and her amazing family.

  4. Sweet! I love bird legs & sunshine too 🙂 I bet she is smitten as well & is thinking the same about you: I’m lucky, this family Rocks!

  5. Don’t worry about “so much to write about”. You’ll get there, but for now just enjoy that SWEET, BEAUTIFUL gift, and keep posting pictures for those of us who can’t get our mitts on her! Love you all!

  6. I am so happy! She is perfect in every way…and I can’t wait to come over and hold her 🙂 I think about you often thruout my day of endless box opening…I love you!!!! Tell William not to go lettin her 4 wheel out back just yet….;)

  7. I am so happy for you. Your story brings back treasured memories of my youngest daughters birth. She is a miracle baby also. She was a blue baby and had open heart surger at 2 days old. I was chosen to be her mom. We went through what seemed like an endless roller coaster but I am happy to say by God’s mercy and grace we have a happy 17 year old. She will always have to been seen by a cardiologist and we will always need to watch her for any indications of a heart problem but she is our blessings. As I said, I am so happy for you, you are chosen to be Nora mom, you are blessed.

  8. All I can say is “Beautiful”….just beautiful in every sense of the word. God is great…blessing to each and every one of you.

  9. We just happened upon your story and wonderful pictures through Facebook links. I don’t think our family has been more touched and blessed to have read a “stranger’s” story. God bless you and your family and of course that wonderful angel, Nora. What strength and grace you all have shown; you are an example to us all. Thank you for sharing your story…you continue to be in our family’s prayers and in our thoughts. Take care.

  10. such a beautiful little girl. I don’t blame you for holding and loving her all day long. My prayers and thanksgiving are ongoing for you and your family. thanks for sharing your story. I have had to look at what I think ar big issues and thank God for His blessings to me. Enjoy that sunshine through the window as God’s sunshine continues to pour out His blessings to each of you.

  11. I had the pleasure of seeing those sweet little bird legs yesterday. I got to see her get her little bird bum changed, and to have an outfit change. As my Mom and I were talking, we think Nora’s sweet little face is the closest thing to seeing the face of God! She is such a beautiful little child of God! I keep singing the “Beautiful Things” song in my head. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oyPBtExE4W0

God made beautiful Nora and He is making all of us NEW by Aleisa and William allowing us a glimpse into this love story.

    • Sarah, Early on in your sister’s pregnancy the line from Les Mis reminded me so much of your blessed niece: “To love another person IS to see the face of God.”
🙂 That one line often comes back to me and reminds me of your family.

  12. The story of Nora and your family is absolutely incredible, thank you so much for sharing your life. I think of you everyday and pray your family. You are amazing!

  13. I came across your blog on FB through a friend of mine. You are truly an inspiration and thank you so much for sharing your story. Nora is absolutely beautiful! God bless!

  14. I just love her! I can’t keep myself from being overtaken by her beauty and, I guess, it must be God’s love that is exuding from her. She is so precious. Each picture is serene and brings a calmness over me. I know God spent a little extra time on her… His fingerprints are all over her. I’m so thankful that He let her go from His side, so that we can see her and love her here on earth.
