Sunday
Over the river and through the woods…
… we went to celebrate Sarah’s and William’s birthdays! (Sarah is continuing to feel better!)
There were LOTS of candle blowers on hand just incase Sarah and William couldn’t handle it all by themselves.
And another real sweet one on standby with her Kelly!
We had a great time together, as we always do, and a delicious brunch too!
William and the big kids stayed behind to go swimming with Nana & Papa and Kelly and I brought Nora back home to the comfort of the familiar living room. She was a real good girl for the car ride home!
That evening after Papa brought everyone home my Hubzbind and I enjoyed a long walk together. We really need to make a point to do that more often! 😊
And this is love: that we walk in obedience to his commands. As you have heard from the beginning, his command is that you walk in love.
(2 John 1:6 NIV)
Monday
I packed everyone up for a ride to the sign company. Gavin wanted to earn some money and Greta was going to hang out with Meemee for the day. We made it there okay without incident, but Nora was starting to get fussy as I was getting ready to return home. There was no longer a brudder or a sister in the back seat to talk sweetly to her or to distract her with a toy. I could only do so much with the hand that wasn’t being used to steer the car! Eventually her cry went into full alert siren mode and I was forced to exit the highway. We were two exits away from home, but try explaining that to a baby! Fortunately I had the foresight to bring a bottle along and that quickly restored Nora’s hope in mankind motherkind. Here she’d been crying so hard for almost an entire mile and she thought no one loved her anymore!!! It was all so so sad and she needed to have her tears kissed away and her sweet fuzzy hair sniffed while she drank some milks. Love and milkies are all she wanted. After that we were back on our way again without so much as a whimper!
Tuesday
*Snore*
“Wh… ? Wait a minute… What time is it?”
“It’s Dad’s birfday time!”
Happy Birfday, Dada!!”
“I’m going to get cleaned up for Daddy’s party this evening… Because I’m FILTHY!!”
“I have to get Dad’s card signed here…”
“… An write a little something sweet to him…”
“I sure do love my Daddy!! Happy birthday, Daddy!!!!”
Rise up this mornin’,
Smile with the risin’ sun,
Three little birds
Each by my doorstep
Singin’ sweet songs
Of melodies pure and true,
Sayin’, (“This is my message to you-ou-ou: “)
Singin’: “Don’t worry ’bout a thing,
‘Cause every little thing gonna be all right.”
Singin’: “Don’t worry (don’t worry) ’bout a thing,
‘Cause every little thing gonna be all right! ”
Happy Birthday to all! Nora you have the sweetest smile ever!!!!
Hi to you and your beautiful girl! I’ve had you both on my mind so much. I loved the song on this post. 🙂 My son came in last week and said, “Mommy, we have some new animal friends on our shelf!” I explained the meaning of the birds and he asked me if he could take care of them if he was very careful. I said he could so for the past week he has carried them around in a bucket and will take them out to talk to them and let them “get cozy” in a blanket next he makes on the floor. We put them back on the shelf on Tuesday so they could be in their real home for a while. I’ve needed the reminder of the birds often so thank you again. Please tell William that our family hopes he has an amazing year! Keeping you in my daily prayers and sending your family lots of love.
I think she keeps all her smiles for daddy, so I will try not to be hurt when I get the tears!
HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY WILLIAM. SOUNDS LIKE YOU HAD A WONDERFUL BIRTHDAY. HOPE THE WHOLE YEAR IS AS WONDERFUL AS YOU AND YOUR WHOLE FAMILY IS. I LIKE NORA SIGNING DADDY’S BIRTHDAY CARD. WHAT A BEAUTIFUL FAMILY!!!!!!!!!!! GOD BLESS YOU ALL.
