Loving One Another

It’s so nice to have this sweet little bundle of love to distract us from our sadness about Patches. Nora’s sweet smiles ands squeals can brighten the grayest of days. Gavin and Greta seem to be doing fine. They openly have talked about Patches throughout the day. We all agree that we miss her, but we’re glad she’s in heaven now and free from any terrifying seizures. I’ve had a few quiet moments to myself when I got pretty upset. It’s her little footprints still all over in the carpet,Ā  the curtains outside of our bedroom that she was always hiding in just the way she left them, the label that Greta taped above a food dish that reads “Patchy Poo”. These are the things that have tugged the hardest on my heartstrings today and I can’t believe she’s really gone. There is, however, a definite sense of peace. I awoke this morning with the feeling that Patches was so grateful to be free of her seizures. It was a comforting thought.

Here is a video of Nora and Greta this morning.

They really are that crazy about each other! Absolute sweetness!

Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law.

  1. Greta is the spittin’ image of her beautiful mama! She even uses the ‘Nora voice’ just like you! TOO doggone cute for words! So sorry about Patches. That is always so hard.

  2. This video makes me smile so much. I’ve been reading about Nora for the last few months now. I just had my first son, Blaise, April 4th. They’re so close in age and sometimes when I look at pictures of Nora they remind me of Blaise and vice versa. They both stretch out so sweetly and when they sleep they sprawl out and take up all the room ;). In all seriousness, though, my fiance and I have been reading about Nora and praying for her for so long that reading your blog has become a part of my daily ritual. I feel so much love for Nora and your family. I’ve told so many people about her, and when I tell them about your blog, I sometimes forget to even mention the trisomy 18 because the blog is so touching that I really do just look forward to seeing her pictures and watching her videos. I’m so glad to see she’s doing so well šŸ™‚

  3. What a way to end my day….with a smile brought on by your beautiful daughters. Greta’s expression when Nora has her little “stinky” moment is priceless. Thank you for sharing your family with us. God Bless.

  4. Such a sweet picture of your 2 little girls. I am so glad to see the happiness in each of their eyes for each other. Greta is one special little girl. She seemed to be so strong too when she joined in putting Patches to rest.

  5. LOVE THE PICTURES OF GRETA AND NORA, BUT THE VIDEO WAS OUTSTANDING!!!!! I COULD NOT QUIT SMILING. LOVE THE WAY GRETA TALKS TO NORA, AND THE WAY NORA ANSWERS HER. THEY SHARE SUCH A CLOSE AND LOVING RELATIONSHIP. I CAN SEE THE LOVE BETWEEN THEM. WHAT A BEAUTIFUL BLOG. I AM GLAD I STILL HAVE ONE MORE BLOG BEFORE GOING TO BED. CAN’T WAIT TO READ IT, SO HERE GOES.

  6. Priceless! These sisters were meant for each other! Life doesn’t get much sweeter than that video clip! Perfect! Thanks for sharing.
