It’s hard to believe that it was only a week ago I was feeling so downhearted and depressed — how different everything is right now. It’s been a great weekend! God is so so so so good! Gavin had a birthday sleep over here at the house with 6 boys he’d been in class with in previous years. We’d never done the slumber party thing before, for obvious reasons. We realize the description of “slumber” party is misleading. Perhaps it would be better branded as a “stay up all night drinking copious amounts of rootbeer and having Nerf gun wars” party… Let’s be honest!
William took the 7 boys to see a movie and in the process learned that he will never, ever, under any circumstances become a school bus driver! But for a couple boys, they were a rowdy bunch and they were just having fun. Very, very loud fun. Their energy levels did eventually wane as the night progressed — or perhaps it was a collective sugar crash. William and I slept soundly without so much as one interruption! Greta was safely and peacefully tucked away at her Meemee’s house. Nora was sooo happy to see her sister when Greta arrived back home!
Today ALL of us paid a visit to invaded the Welage house, Nora included. We hope we didn’t dash your plans for a nice relaxing Sunday afternoon, Bryan & Jen! Thank you! Nora has been in such great spirits these past few days that we decided to get out and do something, with her included. We had such a nice afternoon, complete with swimming, snacks, and scooter crashes. (Note to Self: Next time bring helmet for Gavin) Nora brought her bikini with her, incase she fancied a dip in the pool. She opted to nap in the air conditioning for the afternoon after a delightful milkies cocktail.
Meanwhile, back outside all of us, especially Greta, enjoyed the company of an extraordinarily friendly butterfly.
This butterfly hung out with us on the back patio for a good hour, taking turns landing on all of us. It was the neatest thing!
For the most part we are at home with Nora and it can get a little tedious and exhausting. But honestly, I think it would be the same way with any new baby. We ARE able to have some fun “normal” here and there. It was an awesome weekend!

I AM SO HAPPY YOU ALL HAD A GREAT WEEKEND. GLAD THAT GAVIN WAS ABLE TO HAVE FRIENDS OVER AND REALLY CELEBRATE HIS BIRTHDAY. I BET THAT NORA COULD NOT GET OVER ALL THE KIDS BEING THERE. OF COURSE GAVIN’S PICTURE BLOWING OUT CANDLES WAS GREAT. LOVED THE PICTURE OF GRETA AND NORA HAVING CUDDLE TIME. SO, SO SWEET. LOVED THE PICTURES OF THE BUTTERFLY AND GRETA. THAT BUTTERFLY WAS REALLY PRETTY. I CANNOT BELIEVE IT STUCK AROUND FOR SO LONG. I DO NOT THINK THAT CAR SEATS IS NORA’S FAVORITE THING. LOOKED LIKE SHE WAS WANTING OUT OF THAT SEAT PRETTY BAD. ALEISA YOU AND WILLIAM HAVE SUCH A WONDERFUL FAMILY, SO LOVING AND CARING FOR ONE ANOTHER. THAT WAS REALLY BRAVE AND VERY NICE OF WILLIAM TO TAKE ALL THOSE BOYS TO SEE A MOVIE. I AM NOT SURE I WOULD HAVE ATTEMPTED SO MANY, I THINK I WOULD HAVE RENTED A MOVIE FOR THEM TO WATCH. HA! HA! I AM SO HAPPY THAT NORA IS DOING SO GOOD. GOD IS SO GOOD. WELL GUESS I WILL GET SOME SLEEP NOW, WHILE EVERYONE ELSE IS SLEEPING. I AM A NIGHT OWL, ONLY BECAUSE I USE TO WORK NIGHTS. I PRAY THAT ALL OF YOU ARE BLESSED WITH A GOOD NIGHT’S SLEEP, AND THAT TOMORROW WILL CONTINUE TO BE GOOD. (I THINK IT WILL) I LOVE YOU ALL. GOOD NIGHT AND GOD BLESS.
I love the friendly butterfly. How cool that it was landing on Greta! I’ve always connected butterflies as strong symbols of God and his presence. I did a little more reading and they are symbols of faith, the soul and a long life. The butterfly beckons us to keep our faith as we undergo transitions in our lives. What a powerful symbol from God!!

I was sitting outside at my mom’s farm with my son this weekend doing some meditating and pondering when I saw our three birds. I had to laugh though, because they were big ugly turkey vultures. I raised my eyebrow a second and wondered “what would Aleisa and Nora think about those birds?” then I thought “well, we can’t all be cute little disney birds. we’ll take them!”
I thought you would get a kick out of that this morning.

It does take a while to get to a ‘normal’ with a new baby, especially a third baby! I have a 5 yr old, a three yr old and a 6 month old. Going anywhere even with just the baby was a challenge for a while. I think we quickly forget how difficult a new baby is, even without any extras like oxygen. It was just last week that I braved the zoo with all three of them by myself. I pray that it continues to get easier for you, for continued blessings and happy memories for ALL of you!!

Grab the keys and let’s go!! haha. We had a wonderful time with you all yesterday. I was reading your entry and saw the part about the scooter accident. I had no idea!! I hope Gavin is okay! Bryan said all of the styrofoam and boxes helped break his fall. Anyways, We were so happy to get to spend a little time with the Yusko’s! Nora was especially sweet and cuddly before you left and I enjoyed every minute of it. Before you all left, William pointed out the birds on my earrings. I had never noticed them until recently and I think of you guys everytime (everday) I put them on!
Please tell Greta that her butterfly found another butterfly friend and they were hanging out last night.
