Getting ready for my appointment!
Nora had her echocardiogram and appointment with the cardiologist this morning and it went very well! We were so happy and excited that our nurse friend Linda M., who is now like family was able to stay with us throughout the appointment. She definitely has a soothing-effect on Nora!
It was determined that Nora is still not having any symptoms of congestive heart failure, maybe some slight retraction (ribs showing when inhaling), but that’s it. Surgery would not be of benefit to her still at this point because the VSD is not causing any issues, even with being on the sildenefil. Dr. Hirsch, our cardiologist said that she looks great! I love that Nora was so alert and talkative for all of the doctors! They seemed to be very fascinated with her! I feel that we are so blessed to have this amazing team of doctors who genuinely care for Nora. She is NORA, not trisomy 18, and they get that!

Nora has been such a happy smiley baby today. She smiled almost the whole way home.
And then of course later in the evening Nora was smiling for her beloved bath time. She wasn’t the only one smiling in the tub. How beautiful it was to be sharing that precious bath time with my sweet baby daughter with a rainbow glowing in the sky right outside the window!! It was the closest thing to heaven in that moment!

Beside the appointment this morning we had a lot of running around today! I had a doctor’s appointment of my own and then took Gavin to get fitted for his tux for his Aunt Em’s wedding in a few weeks!
Gavin is considering taking up the shoe horn in band.

We love to make each other laugh! I love that kid!
I’m so relieved today is over! I’m about to unwind with some Marley’s Mellow Mood and call it a night. Every little thing is gonna be alright! (Thanks, Will R!!!!!)

I AM SO EXCITED ABOUT THE GOOD NEWS OF NORA’S APPOINTMENT. I FELT THAT IT WOULD GO REALLY GOOD, AND IT DID!!!!!!!!! MY HEART FELT LIKE IT WAS COMING THROUGH MY CHEST WHEN I LOOKED AT PRECIOUS NORA ROSE AND ALL THE SMILES SHE WAS SHARING WITH EVERYONE. LOVE THE FACT THERE WAS THAT BEAUTIFUL RAINBOW OUTSIDE YOUR WINDOW TODAY. I FORGOT TO MENTION ON YESTERDAY’S BLOG THAT I LOVE THE PICTURE OF WILLIAM AND NORA. NOTHING BETTER THAN A DADDY WITH HIS BABY LAYING ON HIS CHEST, AND THE LOVE THAT IS SHOWN. I REALLY LOVE THE PICTURE OF YOU GIVING NORA A KISS, BEAUTIFUL. GAVIN IS GOING TO BE QUITE HANDSOME IN HIS TUX. HE IS GOING TO LOOK SO GOOD IN THE WEDDING PARTY. I AM SO HAPPY YOU ALL HAD A GOOD DAY. PRAY THAT YOU GET A GOOD NIGHT’S SLEEP, AND WAKE UP TO ANOTHER BEAUTIFUL DAY. I GUESS I BETTER BE GETTING TO BED, EVERYONE ELSE IN OUR HOME IS SOUND ASLEEP. GOOD NIGHT AND GOD BLESS.

So happy things went so well at Noras appointment. It looks like an all around wonderful day with all of the smiles and then the rainbow to top it all off!

so great to look at all those happy smiles of Nora. She is precious and so glad for you that those tests are over. Nora is amazing little girl and glad the doctors saw that.
Nora’s smiles and talking to the doctors are to show them what a miracle she is! She is expressing herself and showing HER personality. God works in such wonderful ways.
I enjoy the updates of precious little Nora! I have 2 little girls of my own and am so inspired by your strength and perserverance. I know Nora has other health issues that affect her differently but I also have a vsd. Mine was never repaired either. I did show signs at one point of chf but they put me on meds and it started to reverse. I am now 28 and it is the size of a pin hole (at birth 80% of my blood was circulating back to my lungs) . I just wanted to share with you. As you well know miracles do happen and little Nora is in our daily prayers. God bless you all!!!
I just learned about your blog about three days ago. I have read it all the way through. This is my first post. Nora is smiling so much because the Lord gave her life and he chose you and yours to be her family. She already knows that God loves her because of William, Aleisa, Gavin and Greta. All three of your children are so blessed to have you and William as their parents. Your birth daughter also. Thank you for giving your birth daughter her life. Unfortunately, 30 years ago, I didn’t get to make the decision to keep my baby, the decision was made for me to abort. This journey that you are taking with the Lord right now is so beautiful. I have enjoyed my journey with HIm throughout my life. By the way, the Lord revealed to me that my baby is a boy and his name is Paul Jacob.
