Plans to Prosper

I’d planned to write a little more, but my eyelids feel like they have 10 lb. weights embedded in them. It’s been a physically and emotionally draining day.

Hospitals. Blah!!

Nora was admitted around 1:00 this afternoon and they started her on sildenefil shortly thereafter. We’ve been made to feel at home and as comfortable as possible. The purpose of our stay is to monitor her on the sildenefil to make sure her blood pressure stays at a healthy level. If she does okay we might be able to go home on Friday.

We have an amazing crew of nurses (and doctors) who are taking good care of Nora and of us. We weren’t there for but 15 minutes when we were blessed by a visit from Linda M., who was my angel on earth during our last stay here when Nora was about 12(?) days old. She even rocked Nora for William and I while we went to grab a quick bite to eat!! I heard that she and Nora had quite the conversation while Mommy and Daddy were away! Thank you, Linda, and Happy Anniversary!! 🙂

I was able to get out for a little bit to go spend time with the other kids this evening at Nana and Papa’s while William and Nora stayed behind and watched the Red’s game. I am so grateful for that time with the big kids. I miss them when they’re away!  My Dad fixed me some kale and I watched half of a movie with them, and then was pestered to repeat things in “Nora’s voice”. Yes, she has a “voice” which you may have heard in the Milkies Cafe video. 😉

Real sweet kids

We appreciate your prayers more than I could ever express in words. I enjoyed a generous portion of peace today, but still incredibly exhausted!

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord , “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. (Jeremiah 29:11-13 NIV)

(Thanks for reminding me of this verse today, Kim! I know and believe in God’s goodness, but I need the reminder, the daily moisturizer for my soul!)

Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care.
(Matthew 10:29 NIV)

There were actually sparrows flying all over the place, in and out of garbage cans, etc. being the filthy little rat birds that they are - - wink - -, but I managed to capture 3 of them together for a split second!

  1. Keep on praying. Amazing pics. I’m so happy Linda paid a visit so you could go to have lunch. Muuuaac ( big kiss ). 🙂

  2. HI GUYS!! SO GLAD TO HEAR THEY ARE TAKING GOOD CARE OF NORA AND MOMMY AND DADDY AT THE HOSPITAL. SO GLAD LINDA CAME IN AND LET YOU AND WILLIAM GO GET SOMETHING TO EAT. ALSO GLAD YOU GOT TO GO VISIT THE BIG KIDS!! I LOVE ALL THE PICTURES, ESPECIALLY THE ONE OF NORA STICKING OUT HER TONGUE, AND THE ONE OF NORA AND DADDY. I HOPE YOU BOTH CAN GET SOME REST WHILE THERE, YOU BOTH SO DESERVE IT. PRAYING AND CLAIMING ALL WILL GO WELL. DON’T WORRY ABOUT WRITING TOO MUCH, JUST LET US ALL KNOW HOW THINGS ARE GOING. SO MANY PRAYERS ARE BEING SENT UP, AND I BELIEVE GOD IS WATCHING EVERY SECOND OVER YOU ALL. I LOVE YOUR FAMILY AND PRAY YOU WILL GET TO GO BACK HOME ON FRIDAY. I WILL BE PRAYING EARNESTLY FOR ALL OF THE FAMILY. I ENJOYED SEEING THE THREE SPARROWS. GOOD NIGHT AND GOD BLESS.

  3. That first picture of Nora is great!! Mommies words underneath make it that much better! I’m so glad you have such a good sense of humor. I would be lost without mine! Lol

Just in case nobody has told you 😉 , you are doing an amazing job balancing your time with your kids! Your doing an amazing job in general!

As always, your family will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers!

    !

  4. Praying for you my “seeking sister”. Also praying as you requested for Nora. I think orange is her color. She looks beautiful on her orange pillow. Praying for poops today too -for Nora!! So thankful you got to hang with Greta and Gavin yesterday.

  5. That first picture said it all with her tongue stuck out. I also noticed her big beautiful eyes looking around checking things out. So glad for a wonderful team of doctors and nurses to be with you. I agree that your 2 big kiddos are great. Lots of prayers are going for you and may you continue to feel God’s peace with you and the family.

  6. Thanks for the update and wonderful photos of little Nora! She looks great to me, growing and chubby and alert. It’s hard to believe she has any problems at all. You’re doing so well at balancing your time with Nora and with Gavin and Greta too. I’m sending you a big hug, just because I admire you so much. “God sees the little sparrow fall, it meets his tender view, If God so loves the little birds, I know He loves me too.” One of my favorite childhood hymns. God loves you and Nora.

  7. Could the child BE any cuter?!? (My Chandler Bing comment!) Praying for you Nora…keep up that spunky personality…I am loving it!

  8. Hi! I have been praying for Nora and your family for the past several months – ever since my cousin Erica shared a link on Facebook. I am inspired by your faith in this journey, and am so thankful that you are sharing this with the world!

  9. Ohhh Thanks for posting the pic with little one and I
—she was really telling me how she feels about this whole hospital thing……

  10. “So today… what will I learn…. and what will I teach?” We are all learning the true meaning of hope, and perseverance, and love… on a level higher than we knew before. With continued prayers for strength and courage, and above all, joy in every day.
