Miscellania

Much to Nora’s pleasure, Nana came over for a visit today. This enabled me to get out for a little while with the big kids. We only went to the library and to Target, but it was nice to get out and we had fun together! Gavin begged and pleaded for a counter top “ring for service” bell. {??? just what we need???} Fortunately, he settled on a box of muffin mix instead. I LOVE this kid’s “randomness”!!

Do you know the muffin man?

Nora is doing well. She’s still tolerating the soy milkies, but now we are worried that we haven’t seen a stinky diaper in awhile. 😦

We are planning on having her admitted to Children’s on Wednesday. I’m not sure how long we’ll have to stay, but it’s estimated to be 2 or 3 nights. I have to keep reminding myself that 2 or 3 nights is paradise compared to what another precious family in our prayers has faced. And, as with every other visit / appointment, I would discover afterward that my fears and worries were completely senseless. Why do we put ourselves through worrying!!??

Here are a couple of videos that I’ve meant to post:

And now much to my children’s dismay, I must mention Henrietta Pussycat*.

William stopped for coffee at Remke a couple mornings ago and ended up also stopping for a kitten. Henrietta was crying and scared at the entrance of the grocery store, so naturally William picked her up and brought her home. We’ve exhausted all efforts in finding her owners, so I figured I’d mention her on here incase someone reading is missing or wants a kitten. She’s very sweet, loves to cuddle, tolerates kids very well and she uses the litterbox. Gavin & Greta keep plotting and conspiring ways we could keep her, but unfortunately “it ain’t gonna happen”. We’d love to keep her, but already have 2 cats who are none too pleased. As if we don’t have enough going on here, right?!

* I’m not 100% completely absolutely sure this is a female cat, but if I had to guess, I’d say it was.

Goodnight and God bless!

Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.

  1. When our little one has not made any dirty diapers, we give her 1 oz water and 1 oz pear juice. That’s what the doctor subscribed and it works like a charm! I guess the apple juice may irritate reflux (which we already battle with). Prayers and blessings for your hospital stay!

  2. Praying for you all as Nora heads to Children’s on Wednesday. Your post reminds me of words of encouragement we received just this past Sunday from a fellow nursery volunteer at our church. I had been explaining some of the challenges we have been/are facing with our little miss (she is almost 5 months old and has been to two neurologists, had a head sono, and is scheduled for an MRI wih sedation under suspicions that she may have PVL – she has hypertonia and spasticity in her legs and arms) when Peggy stopped me in my tracks (at just the perfect moment – He knows when that is needed) to relay a bible story that has always helped her through difficult times with her own children who are now adults. She reminded me that from the gospels of Matthew, Mark, and John (when Jesus sent the disciples out on a boat without him and then walked on water to them during a storm) we know what Jesus asks us to do when we encounter troubled waters … He asks us to be as he asked Peter and the disciples to be … He asks us not to be afraid, but to trust in him, always keeping our eyes toward him, not allowing our troubles to take us under and he shows that even if we begin to go under all we need do is cry out to him and he will reach out and lift us back up to safety. I am so grateful to Peggy for sharing with me just as I was about to launch under the water as I explained what we have been facing and I wanted to share that your writings about your journey with Nora have had the same impact on me. I am grateful that you are sharing your faith walk amidst the waves – your words remind me daily to seek him first as we walk about our own waves. Thank you, and praise be for little miss Nora.

  3. Nora, I have been following you for a month or so. I check in on you almost daily. I am so very thankful to read your mommys blog. I have a dear friend that sent her baby to be with Jesus last monday. We lift you up and look so forward to reading about you daily. You are growing up so fast. I love you even though i don’t know you. We lived praying our Margaret would get to come home like Nora. But that wasn’t Gods big plan. Momma you are an amazing woman, i admire you so. With much love coming your way..Love to all!!

  4. Lol. A new kitten and an over the counter bell ( for the milkies cafe , just in case any order is delayed) is what you needed!!. Your home is sooo fun!!. 😉
I keep on praying for sweet little Nora. Love the pic you’ve posted. Big kiss 🙂

  5. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE VIDEOS. I REALLY LOVE BOTH OF THEM. I LOVE TO HEAR NORA TALKING TO HER MOMMY, AND THE SMILES ARE SO BEAUTIFUL. GAVIN LOOKS LIKE QUITE A BAKER. YOU ARE GOING TO HAVE GIRLS AT YOUR HOUSE ALL THE TIME WHEN HE GETS OLDER. HE IS QUITE A GOOD LOOKING YOUNG MAN, AND CAN BAKE TOO!!!! I KNOW THERE ARE SO MANY PRAYERS EVERY DAY FOR NORA AND THE FAMILY, BUT WEDNESDAY, IT WILL BE AN OFF AND ON PRAYER ALL DAY. I PRAY EVERYTHING GOES WELL, AND I THINK IT WILL. JUST REMEMBER YOU AND WILLIAM ARE NOT ALONE, GOD IS RIGHT BESIDE YOU, AND ALL THE FAMILY FOLLOWERS ARE THERE IN HEART AND SPIRIT. IF YOU GET STRESSED, FIND A QUIET PLACE, AND TALK TO GOD. HE WILL BE LISTENING. WELL HERE IT IS 3:50 A.M. OUR TIME, AND I THINK I BETTER BE HEADING FOR THE BEDROOM. LOVE YOU ALL, AND I HOPE LITTLE NORA SLEEPS GOOD TONIGHT, THAT WAY YOU CAN TOO. GOOD NIGHT AND GOD BLESS.

  6. As you prepare to leave for the hospital know all of our prayers are packed with you as well. The fear of the unknown is unbearable. Take one step at a time and you will come through stronger than ever!

  7. I have to say that this is one of my favorite posts yet. Not sure if It’s because of your randomness of mini tales or the videos or seeing Gods wonderful plan at work. Aleisa, I’m so glad you have JOY, not just happiness because that can come and go from day to day based on circumstances, but Joy is inside us, living there, a true gift we receive from our heavenly Father. Thanks for sharing your joy!

  8. I have been following your blog for awhile now. I thought the man that stopped by my bakery and got a coffee the other morning looked familiar. I was working the morning that kitten kept hanging around the garbage can. Glad she found a loving family to be with. Bless you all…… xx Pam

  9. Family after my own heart, coming to the rescue of a helpless animal amongst all the chaos! I cant imagine what you go thru on a daily basis, but Ive witnessed you be strong & faithful, I dont expect that to change! Much love & hugs to all of you! Love the videos!
