Nora – TWO MONTHS OLD!!!!!

Happy Two Month Birthday to the little Miss and Happy Father’s Day to my Dad, my hubzbind, and to all of the great dads out there! A special blessing upon the daddies of angels. Although your little one may not be here with you in the flesh, that makes you no less a Daddy, and a very special one at that.

Our day was a busy one, but fortunately not hectic busy. We had a lot of fun! Gavin had grand ideas to bring his Daddy breakfast in bed, but William was already downstairs before I could help Gavin get things together. With his Muthr’s help Gavin made scrambled eggs and cinnamon rolls, and then William opened his presents. Nora even joined us at the table!

I helped the kids with a gift of framed photos. The first frame said, “We Love Daddy Because…” These were the rest of the frames:

Props and shouts out to Pinterest for that idea! We made a similar one for Papa (and another as a belated Mother’s Day gift for Nana).

Later in the afternoon we went to Nana and Papa’s house (over the river and through the woods, quite literally).

Happy Father's Day, Papa!!!!

We have cute video footage of Oma singing to Nora, I have yet to procure from William's phone

2 Sleepy Heads

Funny story: While we were at my parents’ house Gavin watched in fascination as his Uncle Joe mixed up a whole bunch of “weird things” in a glass.

Bloody Mary

Tomato juice, some sort of clear liquid *wink*, horseradish, mustard, seasoning salt, and he even tossed a pickle in there! Gavin assumed Uncle Joe was just concocting some sort of witch’s brew for the fun of it. After Joe gave it a quick stir, Gavin roweled, “NOW DRINK IT!!!”

“Don’t mind if I do!” Joe retorted as Gavin watched in abject horror!! Haaa!! What must he have thought!!?? LOL

We headed back home by way of the ferry. We got Nora out of the car for a couple sweet quick pictures.

All that fun in one day makes for a tired out baby girl!

Big stretches for this sweet Big Deal! 🙂

We hope you enjoyed your day as much as we enjoyed ours! Happy Father’s Day!

  1. Love the pics and the cutest outfits ever! And what a sweet idea for a gift! I will have to keep that in mind. I haven’t got i to pinterest yet. I waste enough time on facebook and email as it is. Nite.

  2. Happy 2 Months Nora! You are getting so big and squishy! Love all these pics Aleisa, thanks for sharing and so glad you all had such a blessed day! Gavin watching Uncle Joe make and drink his drink is hilarious! He probably expected him to throw a small frog in there as well! :p

  3. I have been following your blog since Melanie did your photographs in the hospital. I check faithfully for my Nora update each and every morning! I must say in the last 2 months, she has made my mornings a lot brighter! I had my baby (a son we named Lincoln) on November 28 and I will never forget sitting in the nursery pumping one April night and checking Facebook as I always did (when you are hooked up to the breast pump, there’s not much to do!!) and seeing Melanie’s post about Nora. As I read her post and then your blog, I wept. I looked at my beautiful, perfect sleeping baby and wondered why I got to have him here on Earth and so many mothers do not. Ever since that night, I hug Lincoln a little tighter and praise God a little more. And each and every morning, we check on sweet Nora and she once again reminds us of how precious life is.

I had never posted in your comments, but I had a dream about you and your family last night and it was SO REAL!!!! For some odd reason (as dreams often go) myself and my husband and Lincoln were in the area and just so happened to know where you lived! So we just stopped on over (which I would NEVER do to anyone in real life, HA!). We spent the afternoon with you and your family and I remember holding sweet Nora in my dream and she was so little and precious! God has a funny way of letting us be a part of certain situations that our minds wonder about, just to let us know everything will be okay!

I just wanted to share that with you. It was one of the most peaceful dreams I have ever had. I hope that God continues to bless your family and I just want to say thank you for giving me a reason to stop and appreciate my beautiful baby boy each day in the midst of this hectic, crazy thing we call life. 🙂

  4. YOUR PICTURES THAT YOU POST ALWAYS MAKE ME SMILE. YOUR CHILDREN ALWAYS HAVE BIG SMILES AND LOOK SOOO HAPPY. LOVE WHAT YOU AND THE KIDS DID FOR WILLIAM, FOR FATHERS DAY. BET HE LOVED THAT VERY MUCH. THE KIDS PICTURES WITH THEIR SIGNS WERE AWESOME. THE PICTURES THAT WERE TAKEN COMING BACK ACROSS ON THE FERRY WERE REALLY GOOD. NORA LOOKS SO CUTE IN HER ONESIE, AND YES SHE IS A BIG DEAL, ASK ANY ONE OF HER MANY FOLLOWERS!! SHE BRIGHTENS OUR LIVES DAILY. THIS IS THE LAST BLOG SINCE I GOT BACK HOME SO I WILL TELL YOU ABOUT OUR TRIP. WE GOT TO OUR NIECE’S HOUSE (SHE TAKES CARE OF OUR SISTER), AND AT FIRST I DON’T THINK BETTY KNEW WHO WE WERE, BUT AS WE HUGGED AND KISSED HER WE SAID” WE LOVE OUR SISSY, AND THEN HER EYES LIT UP. SHE SEEMED TO KNOW WHO WE WERE MOST OF THE VISIT, AND ENJOYED US BEING THERE. SHE GOT A LITTLE BIT TEARY EYED WHEN WE LEFT, BUT WE TOLD HER WE WOULD BE BACK TO SEE HER, AND THEN SHE WAS OK. TOOK US ABOUT 5 1/2 HOURS TO GET HOME. GLAD TO BE HOME “THERE IS NO PLACE LIKE HOME,” I AM RETIRED, BUT MY YOUNGER SISTER STILL WORKS, BUT HOPING SHE CAN TAKE SOME MORE VACATION TIME IN ABOUT 6 TO 8 WEEKS SO WE CAN GET BACK TO SEE HER. I WILL TALK THIS EVENING AFTER YOU POST YOUR BLOG. HAVE A GREAT DAY (I KNOW YOU WILL). LOVE AND PRAYERS THANKS TO ALL FOR THE PRAYERS FOR MY SISTER AND I TO HAVE A SAFE TRIP. WE HAD NO PROBLEMS, PRAISE GOD.

  5. Hi! I have been following your blog and my children and I pray for you every evening. You do not know me but we have been inspired by your beautiful story. I was looking at your pictures tonight and had to share this with you. My husband and I lived in Indian Lookout apartments which overlook the anderson ferry when we first were married. Every night I looked out my window and would pray while looking at the most beautiful tree. It stuck out and did not flow but in the daylight it was beautiful. I referred to it as ” my prayer tree”. When I take the ferry or we are at drews restaurant… I show my children “my prayer tree”. As I looked at your pictures it is the tree directly over your husbands head. It almost looks
Ike a heart. I couldn’t believe that my symbol of beauty was in the background of your glorious picture. Coincidence .. I am sure but just had to let you know that we are praying for you and you are an inspiration to my family. God bless you!

  6. Late comer here, I made it all the way to this blog today when I finally burst Into tears. When you said, “daddies of angels are special too”. My husband lost his only pregnancy thus far in Jan. He longs to be a dad and thinks it might never happen because God doesn’t think he’s cut out for it. He doesn’t count the fact that he’s becoming an awesome step-parent along te way. This blog is showing me to take each day as it comes and trust more in God for timing and circumstance. ❤
