Nora – 20 Days Old

I have nothing of written substance to contribute at this time due to the fact that I am actually in my own bed with a full night’s sleep laid our before me!!! Nora is in the hands of the sweet and lovely Kate C. so Mommy and Daddy can get some rest!

Here are pictures from today of the sweetest little Miss Miss:

Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices;
my body also will rest in hope. (Acts 2:26 NIV)

  2. She is so precious. I am so glad to have been pointed to your blog from a friend’s FB page. She is a daily reminder of his power and his plan. We have a two month old (our third) and I find myself cherishing each moment with her and her older brother and sister all the more since I began following your journey. So simply put in the childhood song Jesus Loves the Children: “they are precious in his sight, Jesus loves the little children of the world.”. Thank you Jesus for precious little Nora. Sleep well Mommy and Daddy

  3. I love following ur blog. It is how I get ready to fall asleep after my hectic day w my 4 year old and 7 mo old. I have just today found out I am preggers w my third and will be 36 in July. We have never elected to do any testing in my other pregnancies, cuz terminating was never an option. But in the interest of being prepared, are there any particular tests we shld consider?

  4. GREETINGS FROM WAYNESVILLE, OHIO. I AM SO GLAD THAT MOMMY AND DADDY IS GETTING A GOOD NIGHT’S REST, AND THAT NORA ROSE IS IN GOOD HANDS WITH YOUR FRIEND. I LOVE THE PICTURE OF HER WANTING FED. I WAS BEGINNING TO WONDER IF SHE EVER EXCERISED HER LUNGS BY CRYING. SHE IS SO CONTENT IN THE LOVE THAT SHE IS SURROUNDED BY. SHE IS SOOOOOO BEAUTIFUL. YOUR FAMILY IS JUST AMAZING. GOOD NIGHT AND GOD BLESS. LOVE TO ALL.

  5. Each night I look forward to reading about and seeing new photos of Nora. She is truly a gift from God. Thankful that Mom and Dad are getting a much-needed night of sleep. Sweet dreams to your sweet family.

  7. Yay for some uninterrupted sleep! And thanks again for the adorable pics of nora! I love the last picture, she is a doll!!

  8. Oh she just looks so content and beautiful in that last picture! Thank you, thank you for sharing!! Funny enough, it’s the middle of the night in AL and I can’t sleep so I checked on Baby Nora and prayed for you all! Then I went and checked on my 3 and thanked God for them! Each of them weighed over 8 lbs at birth so my husband and I are amazed at little babies! FYI- Gatorade was a lifesaver when I was nursing and helped to keep me going on little sleep as well! I truly wish I could keep that angel for you!

  9. Awwwww, I just love reading these updates and seeing pictures of your little angel! Here’s to a GREAT night’s sleep! (zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz)

  12. I thank God that you got a good nite’s rest and have a wonderful friend that is helping you out. Bless her for this wonderful gift. The pictures are wonderful and I love the one that she is calling for feeding time. The one with lovely Miss Nora Grace stretching out and the captions top the pictures off. My morning prayers and my evening prayers are for baby Nora and your family. God loves you so much. Thanks for sharing to all of us…Indiana checking in – and now out!!

  13. I have been following your blog for a couple of weeks now- I went back to the beginning and read the whole story. I am so thankful for your story and so blessed by sweet Nora. Your family has shown such strength through this journey- I cannot wait to keep reading Nora’s story as it unfolds! Thanks so much for being a blessing in the middle of my workday and reminding me how lucky and blessed we are with our kids.
    And I love your ‘pictures now, words later’ posts. I just love to see pictures of your sweet girl. 🙂

  14. I’ve been reading your blog for awhile now, and I just wanted to say you guys inspire me! Of course I have questioned God every now and then but Nora makes me believe that he is there always watching over us. I have a 4 year old daughter and I could only imagine how hard it is at times for you. I will be praying for your family and little Nora as well. ❤

  15. So many lives that you, your husband and baby Nora are touching. So many recognizing the sacred gift of life, the blessedness of the gift of children, the power of love, the grace of Our Lord Jesus. May I share with you a story from my precious Aunt Irene who is long gone. She was a hard-working farmer’s wife and raised 5 sons and finally had a little girl. She had the baby in her early forties as little Norma was quite a surprise, but an immense blessing. Needless to say, baby Norma was their angel. At the age of 4, within 12 hours of the first signs of illness, their little blonde beauty died from a wicked and rare form of meningitis.

    Years later while my Aunt and I stood at Norma’s grave site (now alongside her husband’s as well), she spoke of remembering so vividly the pastor standing there at Norma’s service and telling them that God ‘loans’ our children to us. Sometimes only for a short time. Those words helped her get through the wretched pain, knowing that Norma was ‘back’ in the perfect care of the Father. Her earthly mission complete.

    An unannounced visit to this Aunt once, found her answering the door in tears. Shocked, because she was such a strong woman and tears were something not seen from her, we asked, “Aunt Irene, what is wrong??” She replied, “Norma would have been 32 today.”

    Now my sweet Aunt Norma is reunited with her precious baby girl and her husband. Reunited in the Kingdom of God, all together for eternity. The lessons on our earthly mission are often painful and difficult, but our Heavenly reward is beyond our comprehension. Time here is only a grain of sand in all the oceans of the world. May your family know the Perfect Love and Unity that awaits all who believe it so. God Bless
